Sporting gorgeous horizontal stripes of true blue, sundial and red stripe, our KAMATA baskets are woven in three different sizes so there’s one for every corner of the home.

These colourful sisal baskets make beautiful home storage and desk tidies, toy baskets and bathroom baskets – and they can be used as both small and large planters for all your favourite houseplants.

The medium and large woven baskets make great floor storage for everything from laundry and loo rolls to rugs and blankets, slippers, firewood and children’s toys.

The craftswomen who produce these KAMATA woven baskets all learned to weave local sisal fibres from a young age and practise this traditional craft within a small weaving group in rural Kenya.

Most of these weavers are from farming communities who rely on farming – and therefore, steady rainfall – to feed, support and clothe their families. So when farming slows down, weaving work picks up. Purchasing one of the woven baskets helps the brand’s mission to empower African craftswomen to support themselves and their families more sustainably, and preserve this age-old craft.
